Nick has overall responsibility for Barnett Waddingham’s Corporate Consulting practice area. His extensive experience, clear advice and proactive approach have helped him to become a trusted consultant to a wide range of UK and multinational businesses – with combined liabilities of over £10 billion based on their pension and post-retirement medical plan accounting disclosures.
He advises a range of businesses on defined benefit pension issues including risk reduction exercises, scheme funding, pension benefit design and accounting disclosures. He has provided advice on bulk annuity transactions ranging from £3 million to £150 million.
Nick has developed particular expertise on Pension Protection Fund levy issues, and has a proven track record in reducing levies for his clients by over £20 million through a variety of proactive actions.
Nick is a well-known figure in the industry, having participated on the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Pensions Panel, the CBI South West Regional Council, and the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA) Accounting sub-committee.
Nick graduated from the University of Warwick with a degree in Mathematics and joined Barnett Waddingham in 1997. He qualified as a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2004, was made a partner in 2008 and became Head of Corporate Consulting in 2010.
