Germany: Lurse Global Pension and Benefits Management Round Table
At Lurse’s recent Global Pension and Benefits Management Round Table, key findings from the MBWL 2023 Global Benefits Forecast were presented, in particular comparing the global results with the results from German companies.
Among other topics, the presentation discussed to what extent companies are affected by a shortage of skilled workers. Isabel Coles reported that, according to the results of the study, labour shortages have a greater impact in Germany than worldwide. For example, 90 percent of the German participating companies suffer from a severe shortage of skilled workers, while internationally the figure is 65 percent.
In addition, when redesigning their benefits concepts, German employers not only examine the costs but also the associated administrative effort. Compared to other countries, German benefits concepts tend to be considerably more complex.
